General information

The newly built Alpine Association House "Franz-Fischer-Hütte" is located at an altitude of 2020 m in the hiking paradise of the Riedingtal Nature Park - amidst the bizarre mountain world of the Radtstädter Tauern foothills. Right next to the hut, the crystal-clear Zaunersee reflects, along with several mountain lakes nearby, the connection to the Tauern long-distance hiking trail, and many beautiful mountain and hiking tours around the hut make the Alpine Association House a popular base.

The Alpine Association House offers 44 seats, a Britannia parlor, a seminar room, and a study room. The house accommodates 40 sleeping places with 4 cozy rooms with 2-6 sleeping places, a dormitory with 15 sleeping places, and a winter dormitory with 6 sleeping places. The hut combines the latest technology with sustainable and ecological construction - wood.

Coming from the north - via the Tauern motorway A10, motorway exit in Zederhaus and immediately after the exit in the direction of "Nature Park Riedingtal" (signage available), approximately 8 km from the exit to the Schlierersee parking lot.

Options from the Schlierersee parking lot:
> by car further to the Franz-Fischer-Hütte parking lot, about 2 km / walking time to the hut approx. 1 hour.
> by valley bus from the Nature Park House at Schlierersee to the Franz-Fischer-Hütte parking lot (possible during peak holiday season from 9:00 to 18:00, bus always departs on the hour) / walking time to the hut approx. 1 hour.
> on foot from the Schlierersee parking lot along the romantic alpine hiking trail to the hut - walking time approx. 2 hours.
> on foot from the Schlierersee parking lot towards Jakoberalm and on the Tauern long-distance hiking trail to the Alpine Association House - walking time approx. 2.5 hours.

The hut offers space for everyone - 34 sleeping places (3 rooms with 6 beds, 1 room with 4 beds, sleeping area with 12 sleeping places, 5 emergency beds)

Dining room with fireplace and separable area, dining room with oven, seminar room, study room, Britannia parlor, and a terrace with 50 seats!
