Almflair

Our alpine hut was built in 2005 with an emphasis on ecological construction using wood and harmoniously integrates into the fascinating mountain landscape.
It is located in Lungau at about 1900 m in one of the highest inhabited alpine hut villages in Austria, amidst the wild and romantic Nockberge mountains at the tri-border area of Salzburg, Carinthia, and Styria.
We find ourselves in a unique mountain world that captivates everyone immediately. Larch and stone pine dominate the vegetation, even at this altitude. There is no mass tourism here. There are days when you can encounter no soul during an extended hike or ski tour.
The Karneralm is an ancient place of power. Myths, goblins, and mist witches call this place home. Deep blue skies and bright sunshine alternate with impressive thunderstorms, snowstorms, and natural forces. Pure nature, where man marvels and humbly recognizes the wonder of creation.
Unimpressed by wind and weather, the solid alpine hut offers protection, warmth, and security.
It features a cozy wooden lounge with a robust ceramic stove and an open, inviting kitchen.
There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed, and a further small bedroom with four cozy bunk beds.
There are two bathrooms, one on the ground floor with a shower and one on the upper floor with a bathtub.
The hut also has a spacious, indoor sauna, where you can wonderfully relax and unwind after a winter snow tour.
We are pleased to welcome individuals, nature lovers, and mountain friends, fellow like-minded people, to our refuge and wish you unforgettable days at the Karneralm.
Warm regards from your hosts
